MR/Miss Fiesta Austin SCHOLARSHIP

Calling All Junior and Sophomore High School Students!

 Fiesta Austin invites young women & men currently in High School with a record of volunteerism in the community to enter in Mr/Miss Fiesta Austin for a chance to win a college scholarship. 


Contest Rules & Details:

  • Contestants must be a Sophomore or Junior in High School (homeschooling accepted) within Travis County.
  • Scholarship only valid 1-2 years following student's graduation.
  • Contestants must complete an application with approval of Model Release prior to receiving festival tickets to sell to rally support for their scholarship. Application deadline is Saturday, April 4th.
  • Contestants must have a total family annual income under $75,000 and plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college or technical school.
  • Contestants must complete a 100-word essay on his or her background and community involvement. Recipient’s essays to be read onsite at Fiesta Austin’s Diez y Seis de Septiembre festival.
  • Contest runs through September 1. Winners to be announced at Fiesta Austin’s Diez y Seis de Septiembre festival.
  • Scholarship funds will be paid in August or September for the first semester of the student’s first year directly to the college and not to the student. It will be the student’s responsibility to submit to Fiesta Austin at that time an invoice for second-semester tuition and fees, student ID number and college information.
  • Recipients will be selected by Fiesta Austin Board Members and most tickets sold.
  • Recipients must be present and dressed in professional or formal attire on the day of the festival to receive a scholarship award.

Scholarships to be granted:

1st Prize - $1,200

2nd Prize - $800

3rd Prize - $500
